Reddit Eyes Expanded Acquisitions in Adtech and AI Search (REDD)

Reddit signaled a broadened M&A strategy in its Q4 earnings call, seeking companies that can leverage its scale or expand its user and monetization capabilities. CFO Andrew Vollero said the focus includes capabilities and technologies, with a particular eye on adtech and AI search to enhance monetization and growth. He emphasized the value of acquisitions in accelerating product timelines and adding proven capabilities, citing past deals such as Memorable AI, Spell, Spiketrap, Oterlu, and MeaningCloud. The company is not narrowing the playing field, and Vollero cautioned not to overthink the “scaled opportunities”—they are part of a spectrum of potential targets. In Q4 2025, Reddit reported revenue of $726 million, with $690 million from ads; global daily active unique users rose 19% YoY to 121.4 million, and earnings per share of $1.24 beat estimates. Management sees growing potential in monetizing its AI search product.
