AbbVie (ABBV) reported positive interim Phase 2 APEX Part B results for zumilokibart in adults with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis, with all three dose regimens meeting the primary endpoint of EASI-75 response at Week 16, exceeding placebo. The company selected the mid-dose regimen for Phase 3 development. The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial enrolled 346 participants over a 16-week induction period. Mid- and high-dose regimens also showed significant gains on secondary endpoints, including EASI 90 and EASI 100 skin clearance and itch reduction, with skin improvement by Week 1 and itch relief by Week 2. Common adverse events through Week 16 included nasopharyngitis, headache, noninfective conjunctivitis, upper respiratory tract infection, atopic dermatitis and urinary tract infection. Zumilokibart is a half-life extended monoclonal antibody targeting IL-13. Results were presented at the 2026 EADV Congress in Vienna. ABBV closed Tuesday at $263.29, down 1.12%, and traded at $264.00 overnight, up 0.27%, within a 52-week range of $190.75 to $269.39.
