Autodesk Inc. (ADSK) said on May 28, 2026, it agreed to acquire MaintainX, a developer of artificial intelligence-powered maintenance and operations software, for $3.6 billion in cash and stock, expanding its portfolio for industrial and facilities management. The deal, expected to close by early 2027 pending regulatory approvals, will add MaintainX’s mobile-first platform to Autodesk’s construction and manufacturing cloud offerings. MaintainX serves more than 5,000 customers including AB InBev and Shell, enabling real-time asset monitoring and predictive maintenance. Autodesk said the acquisition would accelerate its strategy to digitize physical operations, projecting the combined entity to generate over $150 million in annual recurring revenue from the operations vertical by fiscal 2028. The company expects to fund the purchase with existing cash reserves and debt.
