Bessemer Venture Partners Raises $5.75B Across Two Funds to Expand AI Investments

Bessemer Venture Partners announced on Sept. 23, 2026, that it raised $5.75 billion across two new funds to accelerate investment across all parts of the AI stack. The firm allocated $1.75 billion for seed and early-stage investing and $4 billion for growth startups. Bessemer has invested $3 billion in AI-related startups since 2022, backing more than 260 AI-native companies spanning compute, infrastructure, foundation models, developer tools, app-layer startups and agentic technology. Its portfolio includes Anthropic, Cognition, Legora, Perplexity, Ramp, Shopify and Waymo. "AI-native companies are scaling faster than any category of technology we've backed before," Partner Byron Deeter said in the announcement. He told Bloomberg that VC firms must keep increasing their war chests because companies staying private longer has become "a permanent structural shift."
