C3.ai, Ameresco and Enovis were flagged on May 15, 2026, as Russell 2000 stocks facing skepticism tied to valuation and investment risk, according to a StockStory screening note. C3.ai (NYSE: AI), an enterprise artificial intelligence software company with a market value of $1.38 billion, was cited at $9.46 a share and 6.7 times forward price-to-sales. Ameresco (NYSE: AMRC), an energy and renewable energy solutions provider valued at $1.62 billion, traded at $30.57, or 25.2 times forward earnings. Enovis (NYSE: ENOV), an orthopedic medical device maker with a market capitalization of $1.43 billion, was listed at $25.07 a share and 7 times forward earnings. The note said smaller Russell 2000 companies can offer higher growth potential but often carry greater balance-sheet and operating risk than large-cap peers.
