Nadella, Cook, Huang, Altman to Attend White House State Dinner for Xi on Sept. 24

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is planning to attend a White House state dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sept. 24, joining Apple Executive Chairman Tim Cook, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon, according to a person familiar with the planning. Microsoft declined to comment. The dinner convenes top technology executives amid an escalating debate over artificial intelligence regulation. The gathering follows Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei's Sept. 16 call for an industry-wide slowdown in AI development, citing risks including large-scale cyberattacks. China criticized his remarks as "fearmongering." The Trump administration has rejected calls for additional regulation or any U.S. slowdown, arguing that such a move would cede the advantage to China.
