OpenAI Prepares Answer to Grok Bot and Meta's Muse as Personal AI Agent Race Intensifies
OpenAI is developing new features to counter SpaceX's Grok Bot and Meta's Muse, according to The Information, as competition in the personal AI agent market escalates. The company plans to rebrand and package existing "Agent" technology from Codex and ChatGPT into a new product. Grok Bot, launched last month within the SuperGrok subscription starting at $30 per month, targets white-collar workers and small businesses, connecting to Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, Figma and financial software to execute tasks autonomously. Meta released Muse this month, offering messaging, email responses and online shopping via prominent placements in Messenger. The push comes as ChatGPT growth has slowed significantly. Invite-only assistant app Instinct has surpassed 100,000 users and is seeking funding at a $10 billion valuation. The Financial Times reported OpenAI expects cumulative losses of $278 billion by end-2030, up from an earlier $180 billion forecast. No launch date for OpenAI's counter-product has been disclosed.
