Albany International Unit Wins $21.2 Million Army Contract for Hypersonic Thermal Protection

Albany Engineered Composites, a segment of Albany International Corp. (NYSE: AIN), secured a $21.2 million IBAS contract over a 30-month performance period to develop carbon-carbon composite thermal protection systems for hypersonic vehicles and solid rocket motors, the company announced on September 29, 2026. The award, issued through U.S. Army Contracting Command-Rock Island and Cornerstone OTA, funds engineering studies, facility planning, supplier selection, equipment procurement, and construction of a vertically integrated domestic carbon-carbon composite manufacturing facility. The program aims to scale production of thermal protection systems for defense applications operating in extreme environments. Albany shares traded up 0.47 percent at $60.37 on the NYSE.
