Altimmune (ALT) Reports Positive Phase 2b Pemvidutide Results in MASH

Altimmune Inc. (ALT) announced on May 29, 2026 that its Phase 2b IMPACT trial for pemvidutide in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) met primary endpoints. The study showed a statistically significant proportion of patients achieved MASH resolution without worsening fibrosis, alongside a significant reduction in liver fat content versus placebo. The dual GLP-1/glucagon receptor agonist also delivered meaningful weight loss as a secondary endpoint. Full data were presented at a medical conference. Altimmune plans to meet with regulators in the second half of 2026 to discuss a pivotal Phase 3 program.
