AMTD IDEA Group (NYSE: AMTD) said on June 2, 2026, it agreed to acquire a 14-story office tower in the City of London for $17 million, expanding its footprint in the UK commercial property market. The purchase of the building near Liverpool Street station is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026. The Hong Kong-based financial services conglomerate has been increasing its real estate investments, including the acquisition of the L’Avenue skyscraper in New York last year. The London tower, which has been renovated in recent years, will add to AMTD’s portfolio of prime commercial assets in global financial hubs. “This acquisition aligns with our strategy to diversify into high-quality income-generating properties, providing stable returns amidst market volatility,” AMTD Chairman Calvin Choi said in a statement. The company did not disclose the seller or the building’s current occupancy rate.
