Amazon (AMZN) Invests Over $20 Billion in UK in 2025, Tracking £40 Billion Plan
Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) invested more than $20 billion in the United Kingdom in 2025, the e-commerce and cloud giant said on May 27, 2026, keeping it on pace to deliver its planned £40 billion investment across the three years ending 2027. The 2025 spending covered new operational sites, expanded studio production and office space, and the start of a drone delivery trial. Amazon reported that total UK revenues exceeded £30 billion in 2025, while taxes borne—including corporation tax, business rates, national insurance and digital services tax—rose over 20% from the previous year to more than £1.3 billion. The company employs around 75,000 people in the UK, ranking among the country's top 10 private-sector employers. The UK is Amazon's third-largest market globally, behind the United States and Germany.
