Kuehne+Nagel Signs Long-Term Logistics Deal With Amazon for Data Center Buildout

Kuehne+Nagel (SWX: KNIN) said Monday it signed a long-term agreement to manage Amazon's supply chain services, primarily supporting Amazon Web Services' global data center construction and infrastructure expansion. The contract expands the Swiss logistics company's existing Amazon relationship beyond air freight to ocean, road and contract logistics, covering equipment transport across the full infrastructure lifecycle, from maintenance to upgrades. Terms typically run seven to 10 years, executives have said. The deal grants Amazon a seven-year call option to purchase K+N shares upon hitting commercial milestones, settleable in cash or stock. K+N has moved servers and cargo for Amazon for at least two years, including via two Boeing 747-8 freighters operated by Atlas Air. CEO Stefan Paul cited strong hyperscaler demand in the second quarter, particularly on the trans-Pacific lane, and said more contracts are expected.
