ASML (ASML) on June 19, 2026, explicitly denied reports that it shipped any extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines to China, directly refuting U.S. official concerns. The denial comes after reports that U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick raised worries that ASML's advanced equipment might have entered China, violating U.S.-led export controls. In a statement to Reuters, ASML affirmed, "ASML has never shipped any EUV lithography tools to China, nor has it shipped any parts, modules, or services specifically designed for EUV lithography tools to China." The company stressed its full compliance with all export control policies and regulations. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs echoed this, stating it strictly enforces export controls on semiconductor manufacturing equipment based on EU regulations and national measures, requiring licenses for all covered items. Earlier reports in April 2026 indicated U.S. efforts to align allies' export controls to restrict China's advanced chip manufacturing capabilities.
