ASE Technology Holding Co. Ltd. (TW:3711, US:ASX) subsidiary ASE on Sept. 30 presented 12 advanced automation research projects developed with six Taiwanese universities at its 11th industry-academia automation symposium, advancing factory intelligence and heterogeneous integration across its packaging and testing operations. The 2026 program spans generative AI, digital twins, smart scheduling, predictive maintenance and cybersecurity. ASE said its AI-assisted debugging tool cut code rejection rates to below 10%, while device-monitoring systems detect anomalies within milliseconds to prevent unplanned downtime. Vice President Chen Chun-ming said the company has pursued smart manufacturing since forming an automation committee in 2011 and planning lights-out factories in 2015, focusing on automation, heterogeneous equipment integration and microsystem packaging. Partners include National Central, Cheng Kung, Sun Yat-sen, Yang Ming Chiao Tung, Tsing Hua and Taiwan Tech universities.
