Alphatec Holdings (ATEC) is expanding its AI-enabled spine-surgery platform, seeking to compete with larger medical-device companies by combining implants, imaging, navigation, robotics and nerve-monitoring tools in the operating room, according to a May 13, 2026, industry report. The company said the global spine-device market is about $10 billion, while Alphatec’s 2025 revenue was $760 million, leaving its market share below 10%. It is targeting lateral spine surgery, a segment it estimates at about $1 billion, through its PTP system, which allows lateral and posterior spine procedures to be performed with the patient in one position. Alphatec’s Alpha InformatiX platform integrates EOS imaging, EOS Insight software, SafeOp nerve monitoring and the Valence navigation robot. The company said physicians using EOS Insight for six months increased related procedure volume by an average of about 30%, while the number of doctors using its surgical platform has grown about 20% sequentially each quarter since 2024.
