Lawmakers question Trump’s BA, NVDA purchases ahead of China visit
Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi on May 14, 2026, asked President Donald Trump to disclose China-related financial interests after ethics filings showed Trump bought Boeing and Nvidia shares ahead of a China trip expected to benefit both companies. Documents released by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics show Trump bought $1 million to $5 million each of Boeing (BA) and Nvidia (NVDA) on February 10, 2026. Trump told Fox News on May 14 that China would buy 200 Boeing aircraft, below some market expectations of up to 500 jets. Boeing shares fell more than 4% after the report. Krishnamoorthi’s letter sought disclosure of China-linked business deals, investments, trademarks, licensing agreements and potential conflicts involving Trump, his family, the Trump Organization and senior officials. The filing showed more than 3,000 Trump transactions from January through March 2026, including purchases of Apple (AAPL), Costco (COST) and ETFs, and sales of Amazon (AMZN), Meta (META), Microsoft (MSFT) and Vanguard Dividend Appreciation ETF (VIG).
