Alibaba Cloud launched a suite of AI products and infrastructure upgrades in Singapore on May 26, 2026, pivoting to an “agent-first” strategy to capture surging overseas demand. The centerpiece, Qwen Cloud, is a new portal designed to service AI agents rather than just human users, offering standardized Skills and CLI tools that enable agents to autonomously call cloud services. The flagship Qwen3.7-Max model ranks fifth globally and first in China on Artificial Analysis, optimized for agentic tasks. In demonstrations, it collaborated with frameworks like Claude Code to complete a 35-hour task involving over 1,000 tool calls. Alibaba also released MuleRun for multi-agent collaboration and updated Qoder, an agentic programming platform with 500 million users, to version 1.0 with end-to-end autonomous development capabilities. The company overhauled more than 60 cloud products into agent-ready modules as part of its transition to an “Agentic Cloud.” Alibaba Cloud now operates 31 regions and 101 availability zones globally, with overseas market size growing 20-fold in five years, according to Gartner. The firm plans further expansions in the Netherlands, Brazil, Mexico, and South Korea.
