Citigroup raised its 12-month Bitcoin price target to $113,000 from $82,000 and its Ethereum target to $3,028 from $2,240, citing stronger crypto market activity, a supportive macro backdrop and returning ETF inflows, Reuters reported on October 1, 2026. Both targets represent roughly 35% increases over the bank's prior figures. Bitcoin traded near $83,900 and Ethereum near $2,700, leaving implied upside of about 35% and 12%, respectively. Citi forecasts $5 billion of inflows over the next 12 months, assuming advisers and brokerages gradually raise allocations. That figure would mark a turnaround. Spot Bitcoin ETFs posted a small net outflow in the year to September, including $4.51 billion in June alone, before drawing $880 million in 2026. Bitcoin and Ethereum have gained roughly 40% and 68% over three months, trimming year-to-date losses to 4% and 9%. Citi noted the Clarity Act's Senate failure last month narrowed prospects for a market-structure bill.
