US Spot Bitcoin ETF Flows Turn Positive for 2026 After $4.6 Billion Inflow Rebound
Flows into US-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds have turned positive for 2026, drawing about $320 million in net inflows as Bitcoin's recovery revives investor demand, according to Bloomberg-compiled data. Investors have poured roughly $4.6 billion into the funds since Aug. 19, 2026, when the US Treasury announced it would increase buybacks of long-dated bonds, reversing the outflows accumulated earlier in the year. Bitcoin has rallied about 35% over that stretch to above $86,000, trading near $85,900 early Wednesday in New York, after being largely confined below $80,000 since February. Total digital-asset market value has reclaimed $3 trillion for the first time since January, CoinGecko data show, while open interest in perpetual futures across cryptocurrencies has climbed to about $160 billion, the highest since late October 2025, per Coinglass. Pepperstone's Chris Weston estimated the average cost basis of Bitcoin held by US spot ETFs at $82,000, leaving holders back in unrealized profit.
