Vivek Ramaswamy sold his entire BuzzFeed Inc. stake on May 12, 2026, according to a May 14 regulatory filing, exiting the online media company shortly after Byron Allen agreed to acquire a 52% stake for $120 million. Ramaswamy, the Republican nominee for Ohio governor, sold 3.1 million BuzzFeed shares at an average price of $1.56 and 39,000 warrants at 4 cents each. The sale came one day after BuzzFeed announced Allen’s investment. Ramaswamy had built an 8.9% stake in 2024, buying shares in a range of $1.48 to $2.51, and had urged the company to add board members and recruit high-profile media personalities including Tucker Carlson and Charles Barkley. BuzzFeed has faced declining audience and advertising revenue in recent years.
