Cognex to Acquire RealSense for About $500 Million

Cognex Corporation (CGNX) said on September 22, 2026, that it has signed a deal to acquire RealSense, a provider of depth-sensing cameras and computer-vision systems, for approximately $500 million. The machine vision maker will finance the transaction. RealSense, spun out of Intel, supplies depth-sensing camera hardware and computer-vision software used in robotics, logistics and industrial applications. The acquisition expands Cognex's portfolio of machine vision systems, software and sensors. Cognex did not disclose additional terms or a closing timeline. The company will finance the transaction, according to the announcement.
