Polymarket Hires Goldman Sachs Veteran Lisa Mantil to Lead Institutional Growth Push
Polymarket has hired Lisa Mantil, a nearly 30-year Goldman Sachs veteran, as head of institutional growth, the prediction market platform announced on September 29, 2026. Mantil previously served as a Goldman Sachs partner and global head of the bank's ETF accelerator, which helped clients bring new investment products to market. CEO Shayne Coplan said her institutional relationships position her to lead the company's expansion. The hire follows the May 2026 launch of Polymarket's U.S.-regulated exchange and the September appointment of Warren Jenson as its first CFO. Competitor Kalshi executed the sector's first block trade in April 2026; Polymarket's unregulated international platform, which runs on the Polygon blockchain, followed one month later. Institutional adoption remains constrained by regulatory disputes over sports-related event contracts. Polymarket is valued at roughly $21 billion following a $1 billion raise that included 1789 Capital and Intercontinental Exchange.
