CoStar Group to Buy Home Data Firm Zonda in $800 Million Deal
CoStar Group (CSGP) announced on May 29, 2026, it will acquire home data and analytics platform Zonda for $800 million, expanding its residential real estate intelligence business. The deal is expected to close later this year, pending regulatory approval. The purchase will integrate Zonda's datasets covering new-home construction, builder sentiment, and land development with CoStar's existing residential listings and market analytics. CoStar has increasingly targeted the homebuying sector, recently integrating its Homes.com platform into broader research tools. Zonda, previously known as Hanley Wood, provides data on over 3 million homes under construction and tracks pricing trends across 400 U.S. markets. CoStar expects the acquisition to be accretive to earnings within the first year. The company's shares have risen about 12% year-to-date.
