Waste management stocks posted mixed first-quarter 2026 results, with aggregate revenues falling 2.3% below analyst consensus, according to an earnings review published May 29. Casella Waste Systems (NASDAQ: CWST) led the group with a 9.6% year-over-year revenue jump to $457.3 million, beating expectations by 0.5%. Despite Casella’s top-line outperformance, its adjusted operating income significantly missed estimates, tempering the quarter. Enviri (NYSE: NVRI) saw flat revenue of $549.8 million but exceeded forecasts, driving a 12.8% stock gain. Waste Connections (NYSE: WCN) reported $2.37 billion in revenue, up 6.4% and surpassing projections, yet its shares slipped 2.2%. Republic Services (NYSE: RSG) met expectations with $4.11 billion. At the bottom, Perma-Fix (NASDAQ: PESI) revenue fell 20.1% to $11.13 million, missing estimates by 14.4%, and its stock tumbled 21.6%. Overall, the sector’s average share price fell 4.2% since earnings releases, reflecting broader caution amid mixed operational results.
