DoorDash to Pay $131.5M to Settle NYC Delivery Worker Pay Probe

DoorDash (DASH) agreed on September 22, 2026, to pay $131.5 million to settle New York City claims that it violated delivery worker pay rules, including missed and late payments to roughly 264,000 workers. Under the settlement with the city's Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, $12.3 million goes to underpaid Dashers, $16.7 million is a city fine, and more than $83 million resolves a dispute over calculation of bonuses for time logged into the app but not actively delivering. DoorDash said about $6.6 million never reached workers and $5.7 million arrived late; the average missing payment was $7.70. The company said it has corrected the software problems, set aside the full amount in prior quarters, and will pay affected workers within weeks. New York City's minimum rate for delivery workers stands at $22.13 per active hour as of April 2026.
