Germany's benchmark DAX rose 63.31 points, or 0.25%, to 25,470.42 on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, as technology stocks outperformed despite elevated oil prices and higher bond yields. Infineon Technologies climbed 3.2% and Siemens Energy gained 2.75%, lifted by a Reuters report that Anthropic plans to use public investors to fund its AI-driven expansion. Siemens rose 2.1%, while SAP, Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, Merck and MTU Aero Engines added 0.7% to 1.1%. Brent crude front-month futures traded at $105.50 a barrel after peaking at $107.87, as U.S.-Iran negotiations remained stalled ahead of November midterm elections. Decliners included Bayer, down 1.7%, Rheinmetall, down 1.5%, and E.ON, down 1.4%. Fresenius Medical Care fell about 1% after Berenberg sharply cut its price target and withdrew its buy rating. Henkel, Mercedes-Benz, Adidas and Deutsche Telekom also edged lower.
