Disney to Raise Disney+ Ad-Free Price 13% to $21.49 Monthly
Walt Disney (DIS) will raise subscription prices across its streaming services, with the flagship ad-free Disney+ plan rising $2.50, or 13%, to $21.49 a month from $18.99, users to be notified as early as Wednesday, September 23, 2026. The increase narrows the gap with Netflix's (NFLX) $26.99 ad-free premium tier to $5.50 monthly. The ad-free Hulu plan also rises $2.50. The ad-free Disney+/Hulu bundle gains $2 to $21.99, just 50 cents above a single service. Ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu standalone plans each rise 50 cents to $12.49, while the ad-supported bundle stays at $12.99. Disney, Netflix, Apple (AAPL), Comcast (CMCSA) and Paramount Skydance (PSKY) have repeatedly raised streaming fees to improve profitability. Disney's entertainment division posted a 64% year-over-year jump in third-quarter operating income, aided by subscriber growth and double-digit streaming margins.
