Dollar Tree Q1 Profit Rises, Exceeding Wall Street Forecasts

Dollar Tree Inc. (DLTR) reported a higher first-quarter profit on May 28, 2026, beating analyst expectations as budget-conscious consumers flocked to its discount stores. Net income climbed to $312 million, or $1.42 per share, for the quarter ended April 30, compared with $274 million, or $1.21 per share, a year earlier. Revenue rose 3.8% to $7.18 billion, surpassing the consensus estimate of $7.05 billion. Same-store sales increased 2.1%, driven by higher traffic at both the Dollar Tree and Family Dollar banners. Chief Executive Officer Michael Creedon cited market share gains amid persistent inflation. The company maintained its full-year outlook for earnings of $5.80 to $6.20 per share. Shares edged higher in early trading following the release.
