BRP Inc. (NASDAQ: DOOO) said on May 28, 2026, that its fiscal first-quarter profit fell sharply, as high inflation and cautious consumer spending curbed demand for its powersports vehicles. Net income retreated to $142.3 million, or $1.82 per diluted share, from $210.7 million, or $2.61 a share, a year earlier. Revenue slipped 11% to $1.98 billion, missing analysts’ estimates of $2.14 billion. The Canadian manufacturer of Ski-Doo snowmobiles and Sea-Doo watercraft cited elevated dealer inventory levels and promotional pressure in North America. North American retail sales declined by a mid-single-digit percentage, while gross margin narrowed to 23.8% from 26.1% a year ago, reflecting higher materials costs and unfavorable product mix. CEO José Boisjoli noted that the company is adjusting production rates to align with softer demand and remains focused on reducing inventory throughout the dealer network. BRP held its quarterly dividend steady at C$0.21 per share. The stock has fallen roughly 18% this year through Wednesday’s close.
