Dexcom Warns Stolen, Non-Functional G7 Glucose Monitors Were Resold, Cautions Vendors
DexCom Inc. (NASDAQ: DXCM) warned on May 26, 2026, that stolen and scrapped G7 continuous glucose monitoring devices were illegally resold to unauthorized third parties. The medical device maker cautioned that these units, originally designated for disposal, may not function correctly and could pose serious health risks to users. The company said it discovered the theft and subsequent resale of the scrap devices, which failed quality assurance tests and were never intended for patient use. Dexcom is working with law enforcement and regulatory agencies to address the situation. It urged customers and vendors to verify the authenticity of G7 products through official channels only. The G7 is Dexcom’s flagship CGM and a key revenue driver. The company did not disclose the financial scope of the theft but said it is strengthening supply chain security measures. Dexcom shares have declined 12% year-to-date amid intensifying competition in the diabetes technology market.
