Elastic NV (NYSE:ESTC) reported revenue of $450.7 million for its fiscal first quarter ended April 30, 2026, up 16% year-over-year and above Wall Street estimates, yet shares dropped 9.2% to $52.25 as in-line guidance and a cloud revenue recognition drag disappointed investors. Non-GAAP profit of $0.61 per share topped consensus by 8.4%. The company forecast next-quarter revenue of $469.5 million, roughly matching analyst expectations. CEO Ashutosh Kulkarni attributed growth to surging multi-year commitments for AI-powered search, observability and security tools, especially in the public sector, while a mix shift toward cloud offerings deferred some recognized revenue. CFO Navam Welihinda said improved sales execution and rising customer commitment metrics “gives us confidence in our ability to accelerate revenue growth and drive further margin expansion.” The company plans to expand sales capacity and embed AI agents to capture observability and security market share.
