FibroBiologics Wins European Patent for Fibroblast Technology; FBLG Rises in Pre-Market
FibroBiologics, Inc. (FBLG) announced on Wednesday that the European Patent Office granted European Patent No. 3568465, covering its fibroblast therapeutic technology. The patent, titled "Methods of Enhancing Fibroblast Therapeutic Activity," protects methods of conditioning fibroblasts with platelet-rich plasma and cytokines to improve their anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties. The technology targets degenerated disc tissue, angiogenesis and spinal disc regeneration, with potential application in chronic lower back pain linked to intervertebral disc degeneration. FBLG closed Tuesday's session at $1.31, down 3.68%, and traded up 3.05% at $1.35 in pre-market. Shares have ranged between $0.62 and $11.40 over the past year. "We are pleased to secure this patent, which covers our core fibroblast technology," said Founder and CEO Pete O'Heeron. "Fibroblasts are remarkable cells, but how they perform in the body depends a great deal on how they are prepared before they get there."
