Fluor Corp. and Balfour Beatty have completed the $677 million Oak Hill Parkway project in southwest Austin, Texas, opening a key corridor between the city and growing communities to the west, the companies announced Sept. 25, 2026. The joint venture widened roughly 7 miles of U.S. Route 290 and state Highway 71 from two to three lanes in each direction, part of the Texas Department of Transportation's Clear Lanes initiative. The scope included direct-connect flyovers between the two highways, a new overpass at William Cannon Drive, and a single-point urban interchange replacing the former Y-interchange. The roadway is fully open to traffic, with landscaping, paving and striping continuing through final completion expected by the end of 2026, Fluor said. The contractors previously partnered on Dallas-area projects, including the $625 million Southern Gateway and an I-635 reconstruction.
