FMC Submits Rimisoxafen Herbicide to Brazil Regulators, Second Global Filing
FMC Corp. (FMC) said it submitted its regulatory dossier for rimisoxafen, an herbicide active ingredient, to Brazilian authorities, marking the product's second global filing after a U.S. EPA submission in July 2026. Rimisoxafen is FMC's third herbicide active ingredient filed in Brazil, following Isoflex and Dodhylex. Brazilian growers manage roughly 50 million hectares of soybeans and over 20 million hectares of corn, where resistant broadleaf weeds such as Amaranthus hybridus and Amaranthus palmeri are increasingly common. FMC said field testing showed rimisoxafen delivered consistent activity against small-seeded broadleaf weeds, including populations resistant to other herbicides. The company plans additional submissions for formulated rimisoxafen products as the Brazilian review advances. FMC shares closed Monday at $9.21, down 3.86%, and fell 0.10% to $9.20 after hours. The stock has traded between $9.14 and $33.64 over the past year.
