FingerMotion to Acquire Newbit for $2.3 Million, Securing 9.9 MW Alberta Power Site
FingerMotion Inc. (FNGR) said Tuesday it entered a definitive agreement to acquire Newbit Technology Inc. for $2.3 million in cash, gaining rights and infrastructure for a 9.9 MW behind-the-meter site in County of Newell, Alberta. The cash-free, debt-free deal targets closing on or before October 29, 2026, subject to a new gas supply agreement, consents and due diligence. FingerMotion paid a $230,000 deposit, with another $230,000 due at signing and about $1.84 million at closing. Newbit holds site tenure, permits, pipeline and metering infrastructure, and environmental approvals for the Brooks Campus #1 site. Power generation equipment and movable plant are excluded and will be removed before closing; fixed improvements are acquired as-is. The site advances FingerMotion's Alberta strategy to develop behind-the-meter, natural gas-powered locations for future compute capacity. FNGR closed Tuesday at $0.13, down 2.69%, and rose 16.12% pre-market to $0.15.
