NEW YORK — Gap Inc. announced a multi-year partnership with pop boy band Just Your Type on Sept. 23, 2026, marking the first music collaboration under its Fashiontainment platform, which combines content creation, licensing and brand partnerships. The five-member band, known as JYT and signed to Wexler Records/Republic Records, has more than 2 million social media followers. Gap will co-produce a docuseries on the group and release a co-designed clothing collection this fall, alongside a national mall tour featuring live performances. The deal is the latest effort by CEO Richard Dickson to revive Gap, which reshaped fashion in the 1990s but has since lost ground to competitors. Dickson, who previously helped revive Mattel's Barbie sales, has reshuffled leadership and expanded offerings. Gap shares (NYSE: GAP) have doubled since Dickson's arrival but are down nearly 16% this year amid persistent inflation weighing on U.S. consumers. Gap also owns Old Navy, Banana Republic and Athleta.
