General Mills Names COO Dana McNabb CEO, Succeeding Jeff Harmening Effective 2027

General Mills, Inc. (GIS) said Wednesday it appointed Chief Operating Officer Dana McNabb as chief executive officer effective January 1, 2027, succeeding Jeff Harmening. Harmening will move to executive chair of the board on the same date. McNabb has spent 27 years at the branded consumer foods maker, holding senior roles in general management, enterprise strategy, marketing and international operations before becoming COO. The CEO transition is set for the start of the company's 2027 fiscal calendar. The company did not disclose financial terms or the reasons for the leadership change.
