Generac (GNRC) Secures Global Backup Power Deal With Hyperscale Data Center Operator
Generac Holdings Inc. (GNRC) has secured a global supply agreement to provide backup power generators for a major hyperscale data center operator, the company announced June 2, 2026. The deal marks a significant expansion of Generac's commercial and industrial power business as data center infrastructure demand surges amid rapid growth in artificial intelligence and cloud computing. The unnamed customer selected Generac after an extensive qualification process that included factory inspections, performance evaluations, and supplier audits. CEO Aaron Jagdfeld said the contract reinforces Generac's position in large-scale backup power systems and reflects expectations for continued growth as digital infrastructure expands globally. The agreement follows Generac's recent strategic moves to strengthen its mission-critical power market presence, including a partnership with EPC Power for integrated energy solutions and the acquisition of generator enclosure specialist Enercon. The company has also expanded manufacturing capacity in Wisconsin and across international operations in Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America to meet rising data center demand.
