Alphabet's (GOOGL) YouTube announced a suite of creator tools on Sept. 23, 2026, including AI script analysis, A/B video testing, serialized Shorts, and live English-to-Spanish AI dubbing, as Netflix (NFLX) aggressively courts top YouTube talent. Netflix is offering lucrative global contracts to shows such as "Good Mythical Morning," expanding from children's content into podcasts and adult programming, per The Wall Street Journal. Nielsen data showed YouTube captured 14.2% of U.S. TV streaming time in July 2026, nearly double Netflix's share. YouTube pays creators 55% of ad revenue rather than upfront fees. The company has warned that cross-platform deals may reduce brand partnership and Brandcast exposure. Tubular Labs data showed mixed viewership effects for creators working with Netflix. Amazon (AMZN) and Disney (DIS) have also begun creator partnerships, though less aggressively than Netflix.
