Neko Health Raises $700M for US Launch, Signals Preventive Scan Trend
Neko Health, the preventive health startup founded by Spotify CEO Daniel Ek, has raised $700 million to bring its body-scanning service to the United States, underscoring growing investor appetite for consumer-preventative healthcare. The company is not alone in the category. Midjourney is developing its own body scanner, and Function Health has also raised substantial capital to build out a preventive-health platform. Farooq Abbasi, founder and general partner of Preface Ventures and an investor in Neko Health, detailed the company's positioning against rivals on TechCrunch's Equity podcast. The discussion centered on what must occur for body scanning to integrate into the broader healthcare system. The funding wave highlights a bet that consumers and clinicians will adopt scanning-based diagnostics as a routine part of care. Neko Health has not disclosed a valuation for the round.
