Hartford Names Morris Tooker CEO, Christopher Swift to Become Executive Chair Effective March 1, 2027

Hartford Insurance Group Inc. (HIG) announced Wednesday that President Morris "Mo" Tooker will succeed Christopher Swift as chief executive officer, effective March 1, 2027. Swift, who has held the CEO role for nearly 13 years, will transition to executive chair of the board on the same date and intends to step down from that position in the second half of 2027. Tooker will join the board effective October 1, 2026. Tooker joined The Hartford as chief underwriting officer in 2015 and, as president, has led business performance, strategy and enterprise-wide execution. As executive chair, Swift will lead the Board of Directors, oversee corporate strategy and advise the CEO. In pre-market trading on the NYSE, Hartford shares were 0.28% lower at $125.51, after closing Tuesday's regular session 0.15% lower.
