Himax Technologies shares jumped 16.3% in afternoon trading on May 14, 2026, after the semiconductor maker reported first-quarter results above analyst expectations and issued a second-quarter outlook that topped Wall Street forecasts. The company posted first-quarter revenue of $199 million and earnings of about $0.05 per share. Himax said second-quarter revenue is expected to rise 10% to 13%, while earnings per share are projected to nearly double. Management said the first quarter likely marked a low point for the business. Himax also declared an annual cash dividend equal to 100% of the prior year’s profit. The stock is up 141% year to date and recently traded at $20.57, a new 52-week high. The rally follows broader gains in semiconductor stocks tied to AI-related demand and stronger global chip sales expectations.
