Robinhood launched Robinhood Agents, an in-app artificial intelligence assistant that builds investment strategies and executes trades automatically while users sleep, work or are away from screens, the online brokerage announced at its annual event on Sept. 29, 2026, in Houston. CEO Vlad Tenev said the so-called AI agent tools aim to give retail investors capabilities previously reserved for hedge funds and Wall Street institutions. Users can direct the agent via text prompts; for example, asking it to analyze how computing costs affect a sector and then open positions in related securities. Robinhood said more than 150,000 customers have opened AI agent trading accounts. To limit risk, the tools can only draw on funds in these separate dedicated accounts, and users may opt to manually approve each trade. It remains unclear how willing retail investors are to hand control to AI bots.
