Infineon Technologies AG (IFX-DE, IFNNY-US) secured a significant victory on June 19, 2026, as the Munich District Court ruled in its favor against Innoscience (002577-HK) in two Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology patent infringement cases. The German court prohibited Innoscience from manufacturing, selling, and marketing infringing products in Germany and ordered the company to pay damages to Infineon, a decision that contrasts with a recent ruling in China. This German judgment follows a recent decision by China's Supreme People's Court, which found Infineon partially infringing Innoscience's GaN patents and mandated a RMB 10 million compensation with a sales ban in China. Infineon stated the Munich ruling marks Innoscience's third and fourth defeat in this series of lawsuits, citing prior favorable rulings including a preliminary German decision on August 1, 2025, and a U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) ruling on May 7, 2026, which found Innoscience infringing an Infineon GaN patent. Additional patent infringement proceedings are ongoing in the U.S. and Germany.
