InnoCare Pharma Ltd. (Nasdaq: INCP) on June 5, 2026, said its BTK inhibitor orelabrutinib met the primary endpoint in a Phase 2b study for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The drug demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in SRI-4 response rate at 24 weeks, with 56% of patients on the highest dose achieving response compared to 34% on placebo (p=0.008). Key secondary endpoints, including reductions in disease activity scores and oral corticosteroid use, also favored orelabrutinib. The safety profile was consistent with earlier studies, with no new safety signals. InnoCare plans to initiate a Phase 3 program by the end of 2026. The company’s shares rose 12% in pre-market trading. Lupus affects an estimated 5 million people worldwide, with limited targeted therapies available.
