Doodle Labs, a Singapore-headquartered designer of long-range connectivity equipment for unmanned systems, is relocating its U.S. headquarters to the Austin metropolitan area from Los Angeles, the Austin Business Journal reported. Co-CEO Amol Parikh said the company evaluated several U.S. markets before selecting Austin, citing the U.S. Army's local research presence, growing defense and aerospace clusters in suburbs including Buda and Cedar Park, access to real-world testing environments, and the city's central geographic location. The company is currently operating from a WeWork space and working with brokers to secure a facility for both testing and offices, with the South Congress corridor—home to several defense tech firms—a particular focus. The move follows recent expansions by Austin-area defense companies: Allen Control Systems is adding a 191,000-square-foot factory in north Austin, and Aeon Industrial is tripling its Cedar Park footprint.
