Fort Worth city officials approved a decade-long tax abatement worth approximately $6 million to attract a $193 million Harting Connectivity manufacturing plant, according to the Dallas Morning News. The Fort Worth City Council voted to offer up to 65 percent of incremental city taxes over ten years if Harting builds the 700,000-square-foot facility at the Carter Crossing industrial park. The plant would create 700 jobs with an average annual wage of $87,000, fully staffed by 2034. Harting, a Germany-based manufacturer of custom cables and connectors for data centers, rail, transportation and renewable energy, is expected to invest the full $193 million by the end of 2028. The company is competing bids from multiple East Coast cities. Carter Crossing, an 83-acre, 1 million-square-foot industrial park at 6901 Wichita Street, broke ground in 2025 and is slated for completion in August 2026. Developer Holt Lunsford Commercial completed 451,900 square feet of industrial space across three Fort Worth buildings in 2025 and recorded nearly $1 billion in development activity across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
