JELD-WEN Holding Inc. (JELD) said first-quarter results were pressured by lower volumes, input cost inflation and higher freight expenses, while management pointed to improved service levels and productivity as partial offsets. CEO William Christensen said the company took “deliberate actions to align our labor with current market conditions” and said productivity gains are beginning to improve customer delivery metrics. Management said negative price-cost dynamics continued to weigh on margins and reiterated a focus on cash preservation and cost discipline. Shares traded at $1.71 after the earnings update, up from $1.39 before the report. Investors are watching whether better on-time delivery can stabilize volumes, whether the company can protect margins against inflation, and how its European business review and other liquidity measures progress.
