GlobalX Airlines Sues Former Shareholder Ascent for $30 Million Over Cargo Deal
Global Crossing Airlines (GlobalX) sued freight broker Ascent Global Logistics for $30 million, alleging it breached an exclusive charter agreement by diverting hundreds of ad-hoc cargo flights to its own subsidiary, USA Jet Airlines. The complaint, filed in May 2026 in Miami-Dade County Circuit Court, claims Ascent provided only 24 expedited charters to GlobalX from March 2023 to August 2024 while awarding about 400 to USA Jet. Ascent was GlobalX’s largest shareholder until selling its stake last year. Under a May 2023 pact, GlobalX appointed Ascent its exclusive broker for North American manufacturing charters, expecting a steady stream of business. Instead, GlobalX parked two of its four Airbus A321 freighters earlier this year amid weak demand, attributing part of the slump to Ascent’s actions. Ascent now demands repayment of $1.94 million remaining on a $2.5 million prepayment, which GlobalX labels predatory. GlobalX Executive Chairman Chris Jamroz previously led Ascent as CEO and chairman when it was sold to H.I.G. Capital in 2023. Ascent did not respond to requests for comment.
