Coca-Cola's Topo Chico Returns to Texas Shelves After February Supply Halt
Topo Chico Mineral Water is returning to store shelves in Texas, ending a supply shortage that began in February 2026, owner Coca-Cola (KO) said on October 2, 2026. The company will expand distribution to additional states in 2027. The shortage affected only the glass-bottled mineral water product. Flavored sparkling water and canned cocktails remained available throughout. The disruption stemmed from quality problems involving water wells in Monterrey, Mexico, the brand's source, which Coca-Cola attributed to "quality issues related to the source's geology." Coca-Cola, which acquired Topo Chico in 2017, said it is making further investments at the source to improve stability and quality and increase production. The company did not answer additional questions about facility upgrades. Premium water remains a strategic priority for Coca-Cola as consumers shift away from sugary sodas.
